Ministry to the Nation of Haiti

A long time ago, in the courts of Heaven, a Divine drama unfolded. The Father looked at His Son. The perfect reflection of His glory, the radiance of His nature, and the delight of His Soul looked back at His Father with longing in His heart. The Father said, “Jesus, if you just ask Me, I will give You the nations of the earth as Your inheritance, the ends of the earth as Your possession.” (Psalm 2:8, paraphrased) As The Father asked this question, I assure you, Haiti was on Jesus' mind.

When I was 16 years old, I sat in my church's worship service in Nacogdoches, TX. The worship song "You Said" played. "Ask and I'll give the nations to You / O Lord, that's the cry of my heart / Distant shores and the islands will see Your light / As it rises on us". That morning, I began to weep in prayer over the nation of Haiti. I felt Jesus' very heart for this people walking in great darkness (Isaiah 9:2). I began to cry out to the Lord, "Distant shores and THAT island will see Your light".

In 2007, after seven years of waiting in prayer, I went to Haiti with a team from the International House of Prayer. A native Haitian, James Adams, led the team. We called pastors and leaders from all over the nation for a worship and teaching conference. Our vision was to call them to the rock of the knowledge of Christ Jesus. I led worship at the conference in their language, Haitian Creole, after months of training with James.

After the earthquake, the Nightwatch at IHOP took Haiti on as a regular prayer burden in our meetings. Right now, my primary calling is to pray for this nation. I am in regular contact with those ministering on the ground in Haiti. I am not sure wh en, but I feel called to full-time ministry related to Haiti. I am still continuing to work with James Adams and other IHOP staff to relieve this nation in this critical hour.
