10,000 Young Adults Gather
for the One Thing Conference |
|
On December 28th-31st
nearly 10,000 young adults gathered in Kansas City for our annual One Thing
Conference. The goal of the conference is to equip a generation to have the
same cry David had in Psalm 27:4, “One thing
I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of
Lord, all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire
in His temple.”
It was incredible watching 10,000
young adults experience satisfaction in Jesus and obtain healing from past
hurts as they worshiped during the corporate worship times. Worship teams who
help keep the fire burning night and day at IHOP lead most of the worship times
during the week. These teams brought a sweet fragrance of worship as they led,
no doubt, from the lifestyles of prayer and worship that they are living.

…I was amazed at the
way IHOP conceived of and conducted their worship and their prayer. The way
they worshipped and prayed, the places they worshipped and prayed, the sheer
amount they worshipped and prayed, and especially the attitude with which
they worshipped and prayed inspired me the entire time I was there and planted
a desire within me to see similar things happen at [my church].

Young adults were also encouraged during times
of teaching. These times of teaching called young adults to an understanding of
the vast ocean of love that Jesus has for them, the urgency of the hour in
which they are living, and how to live a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. On
the last day of the conference they got to live out this lifestyle bringing in
the New Year praying and worshiping with a twelve hour solemn assembly.

also ministered to many young adults praying with them during ministry times.
In addition, I carried out most of my normal responsibilities in the Night
Watch leading worship and serving on the Section Leadership Team.
I again thank each of you for your
continued prayers and support. I can not do this ministry without you! May God
bless you and may you grow in your knowledge of Him this next year!
