Washington, DC
October 15, 2004
I am sorry this has taken so long but I am going to attempt to give an update on what is happening here in Washington as we pray. I imagined somehow on the front end that the most dramatic portion of my time would be the time on the road. I was wrong!
Two Mondays ago we crossed over the Potomac River into Washington, DC. We had a mission to beat the National Organization for Women to the Supreme Court. This was the opening day of the court. It was to be our opening day too! At 12 noon NOW began their press conference demanding the right to have abortions, calling these and others “Non-Negotiable issues”. One of the people on our team had a dream that there was a massive army of young people converging on the Supreme Court with red tape over their mouths with the word “LIFE” on it. We felt that we where to do that. So we did, as the NOW people screamed and chanted for the cameras we stood silently identifying with the silent screams of the babies allowed to be murdered even by this court. We where asking God to reverse the Roe vs. Wade decision. The next day we felt as if we where to continue to pray outside of the Supreme Court silently for the unborn from 12-5 pm. We decided then to continue on until the elections.
I have seen the hand of the Lord on every thing that is happening! Wednesday, 21 days before the elections, we began 24/7 prayer. I am, of course, on the Night Watch leading worship and prayer from 12-5 am. I will continue to pray outside of the Supreme Court silently from 3-5 pm most days. Last night we had an incredible night. I was leading very calm and peaceful worship. All of the sudden the Lord came with the Spirit of prayer. It hit me suddenly and three people began to play the drums. I began to dance calling out for the unborn. Matty, the other leader in the night, and I began to experience the prophetic song like never before. We began to sing songs of freedom for the unborn. It was incredible! This morning we prayed over with James Dobson and Focus on the Family as they stood up for the sanctity of marriage on the mall. They asked our team to come and pray over the mall preparing the ground for the massive gathering that took place today. I unfortunately was unable to attend because of my legitimate need of sleep J. I heard that it was incredible and that the message really came through. This next week we will be a part of the gathering called America for Jesus. We will be doing the 6-8 am in the main gathering on the 23rd and 24/7 worship/prayer before-hand.
We now have a house of prayer in Washington, DC. It is a building on 201 Pennsylvania Ave. It is pointed like an arrow directly at the Supreme Court, our main target of prayer. These elections are so critical to the outcome of the appointment of justices. I urge you to consider this as you vote for your congressmen, senators, and especially for the president. I ask you to vote for people that are pro-life and not for those in favor of seeing the murders of abortions to continue in our nation. We must vote and pray in this election.
I will try to continue to keep everyone updated. Keep me in prayer as the intensity of this assignment is unlike I have ever known. I need divine help! Thank you for your continued help and support.
God Bless America,
Jonathan Baldwin
