On the Road
October 2, 2004
Greetings in the name of our Lord!
Things are going well! We are still on the road. We are about an hour and a half from Washington, DC staying at a camp in preparation for our assignment in DC. We prayed from 7-9 pm last night and then watched the debates. I felt like Bush came through very clear on where he stood on the war. It was good because that is what we have been praying for.
The road has been incredibly intense to say the least! We started out in St. Louis, MO. We joined in with a House of Prayer that is already going in that city. It was so cool to connect with them and encourage them to pray for justice in our nation. From there we went to Indianapolis, IN. Indianapolis began the war zone! We went into an African American church and prayed/worshiped from 4-10 pm. The feeling I got when we entered into the church was just major oppression. It was incredibly heavy! I have never experienced warfare at this level before…not even in Panama. However, we prayed through and God came towards the end. The pastor of the church ended up on his knees crying out for his city and state.
From there we went on to Springfield, IL. This was again an interesting atmosphere! It started out oppressed but towards the end God came through. At this city I manned our voting registration booth for www.voteandpray.com. We where able to get many people registered. The next day on the way out we visited the tomb of Abraham Lincoln. I can’t describe to you the emotions I felt as I read Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address where he spoke of the civil war: “Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said ‘the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.’” I was amazed to say the least that the convictions about abortion that we have Lincoln proclaimed about slavery.
(10/9)I will have another more updated e-mail sent out soon about what exactly we are doing right now. My schedule is limited to spend on e-mails, etc.
God Bless,
