July #1

I just got back yesterday from an excellent week back home in Lufkin. On Sunday I led worship at my old church, Nacogdoches Christian Fellowship. Monday and Tuesday morning I was interviewed about the Silent Siege on 91.9 KAVX, Lufkin’s morning show. On Tuesday night I led worship at a small group at First Assembly of God, Lufkin.

The most exciting thing that happened, however, was as I was driving there last Saturday. Tom Boggs, a friend and mentor of mine, called me. During the 22 day Silent Siege of prayer in front of the Planned Parenthood this past May here in Kansas City, I began having a desire to do a Silent Siege in Lufkin, TX. Though the clinic in Lufkin does not practice abortions, they refer people to clinics down in Houston and are actively expanding their services and it is very likely, if unchecked, that they will one day expand those services to abortion. I told the Lord, “It is not okay with me for there to be an abortion clinic in my city!” I feel as if I am to take this battle to my home town. Tom began to tell me that he had been talking to the Bound4Life traveling teams. They have agreed to send a team August 1st-5th to fight this battle for LIFE with the church of Lufkin.

While I was in town I began to mobilize for this siege with several key leaders and organizations. We have decided to partner with Lufkin for Life who has been fighting this battle for some time now. I met with their leaders over lunch on Wednesday. There are excited at the potential of this Silent Siege being a significant part of turning this battle.

Please pray for me this month as I continue to work out details for this. Specifically, I am looking for churches to schedule the Bound4Life team to do nightly prayer meetings. Pray that God would give me favor with leaders at these churches. Also, continue to pray for my financial situation. The trip back home helped, but I am in need of more New Silent Siege Photosfinances to get caught up from the Kansas City Silent Siege and to come back at the beginning of August.

I just update my web site with a Ministry Photo Gallery. I have a large collection of pictures from the Kansas City Silent Siege. Check it out by clicking the image to the left:
