Breaking News- Supreme Court Passes Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003

We have faced a great triumph of death in our nation as over 30 people were murdered on Monday at Virginia Tech. However in the wake of this triumph of death in Virginia over 2,200 babies a year have been rescued from the wickedness of Partial Birth Abortion—the barbaric procedure where a baby is partial delivered and killed outside of the womb. In a 5-4 decision the Supreme Court upheld President Bush’s Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003. The ban has been tied up in the courts for almost four years now. It will now go into effect in our nation.

We are of course rejoicing! We have been fighting in prayer for this for the past few months praying often during the Night Watch for it. As soon as I heard, I called a lawyer God has put me into contact with, Alan Parker. He worked closely on this case filing a major brief on behalf of LIFE. He told me that they cited their brief quoting from their case Doe v. Bolton. He said this is significant because it is almost like the majority of the court tipped their hats to them.

A Specific Prayer on Monday

This past Monday morning at 5 am God moved my heart to pray a very specific prayer. John Robert’s wife, Jane, is a strong abortion opponent. She is the former director of Feminist for LIFE. Also, while we prayed in silence in front of the court October of 2005, as Roberts began his first day on the job as Chief Justice, she waved at us acknowledging our presence. As I prayed, the Lord laid on my heart the story of Esther. Esther was married to a powerful King who had the authority to either exterminate an entire race of people or spare their lives. Her father, Mordecai spoke reality into Esther’s heart, “Do not imagine that you in the king's palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” I asked God this past Monday that Jane Roberts would be an Esther in this hour for the ending of abortion. I prayed, “Lord, let her go in to her husband and say, honey, where are you at in ending abortion? How long until you end of abortion. When?”

I believe God answered my prayers as well as the prayers of many others who have prayed for her to be a voice to her husband. I really believe that this was a strategy from heaven for our fight. As you pray about this issue over the next few years, pray that Jane Roberts would not remain silent to her husband John and that she would speak to him to end “Haman’s decree”—the extermination of 4400 little ones every day.

Thank you again for your prayers and support! I know that some of you who must be praying for me! Just now I had a real significant break-in of the “knowledge of His will” (Colossians 1:9) during my 2 am worship set. We had a ministry time (which is unusual—the first one I ever done) for those that were struggling with trusting the Lord. Half of the room stood up in response! All that to say, thank you! Your prayers are working! I really felt the Spirit of the Lord leading me and my team. Thank you for those who have responded in giving financially lately as well. God is so faithfully providing for my needs! We are partnering together calling a hungry generation to worship and to pray.
